About
Share the Chair was founded with the mission to eliminate financial barriers for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and immigrants, who are licensed mental health providers in Oregon, by redistributing funding support during education and early career establishment; ultimately increasing accessibility of culturally responsive mental health services in historically underserved communities across the state.
Our goal is to provide academic scholarships to Oregon-based students in accredited graduate programs within the counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, social work and/or other equivalent behavioral-mental health related fields.
Donate
Even a small gift can make a big impact. Your donation funds scholarships that cover qualified educational expenses including tuition, fees, and other essential course materials (textbooks, equipment, etc.) for BIPOC students pursuing careers in therapy and counseling.
By reducing these barriers, we can continue to support a more equitable and representative mental health field, where providers reflect and understand the communities they serve.
In our first year, we hope to fundraise a minimum of $10,000 in order to disburse our first round of scholarships in Spring 2026. Every dollar brings us closer to that goal.
